Probably one of the best visual novels I've ever played. The pacing of the story is so excellent. It creates a soothing atmosphere almost a kin to spending the night at a friends house. It's warm hearted, funny, and emotional.

10/10 will be playing again.

I have to say. This is definitely one of my favorite games ever. I may have a hard time getting the good endings and it may have been impossible getting the best endings. But I love this game. The intro music never ever fails to put a smile on my face. I love it. Hana's character is probably the most dynamic character I have ever had the chance to play as. It makes my heart beat faster every time I play. I hope Illus Seed comes out with more games like this!

I've only played four routes so far: Jared, Shane, Paul, and PBG (listed in the order of how much I enjoyed them). But wow. This is by far one of the best otome/visual novel games that I have ever played.

The artwork and mechanics are lovely. The storyline is fully fleshed out, with wonderful dialogue, flawed but realistic and adorable characters, and an engaging series of events.

There are many choices in the game, and I felt that they all rightfully had significance on the ending. The pacing of the storyline is wonderful as well; the big competition day is the overhanging conflict of the game, and it remains so up all the way through the end. This team did an exceptional job of balancing romance, character development, and side stories with the central issue.

I loved playing as Hana, and was so pleasantly surprised by the development of her character. Her relationship with her father and her openness about her shy demeanor/experience being bullied was incredibly touching--bullying is a topic that I feel games/anime too often water down and take advantage of, but you guys did an amazing job bringing it home. I teared up while reading the letters between her and her amazing father, and was so proud to see her finally be so happy.

I also liked how Hana grows and evolves as a character depending on which route we take. I enjoyed Jared, Shane, and Paul's route so much because of how much Hana broke out of her shell and began to gain confidence in her instincts and self-worth--and how it varied for each boy. She didn't take Shane's hot-cold bullshit, called out Jared for being selfish, and walked out on Paul when he was being unreasonable. That was probably why I didn't enjoy PBG's route so much; I felt neither really grew as individuals while in a relationship with each other, that Hana stayed inside that shell.

Another route-specific complaint I have would be Paul's character development. I liked the story outline, but felt that his romantic feelings for Hana was too rushed. The redemption for all of his denial/insecurity over the class election didn't tie up all the ends--especially when I consider all of the tears Hana shed over him to Mai. A little more angst, a little more pining/jealousy, some more scenes and conversations...that would've hit the spot!

Also, Mai is possibly the best friend I've ever met--I could not agree more with her dialogue about why it was important to hold Jared accountable for his shitty actions. And the fact that she was willing to let Hana be happy with the boy she was crazy for? What an incredible, incredible friend. I was really happy to see in Jared's route that Mai and PBG get together; personally, I think they are a better couple than Hana and PBG, and their energies match each other so well. ^.^

Great, great, great, great (gosh I use that word too much to describe this game but it is so true) game. I've recommended this to so many people, and I will continue to do so! Will definitely come back to tip this amazing team when I get the funds haha.

Am still playing through, more episodes to come of the playthrough soon! I'm absolutely loving it! The Small Voice Acting parts, the music, the artwork - all fab! Please make more.
(You should make one called Asagao Academeow where everyone is cats!)

I finished this game a while ago and found it really enjoyable. The art was cute, the characters were endearing, and some endings were heartbreaking. One complaint I have is that I recently started up the game again to replay a route and found that all of my data had been erased except for my saves. All of the scenes, endings, and CGs are gone. Just wanted to make you guys aware of this if there's any way to fix it.

Played this six months ago and I'm finally finally posting those episodes! I loved this so much! It was so cute and sweet! And so fun!

I can't tell you how much I love this game. My friend told me about this game and how highly addictive it was, and so I thought to myself, "I just gotta check this out and see what it's all about." And, to my surprise, I was hooked on it within the first 10 minutes of playing it, and now, every chance I get, I go back and reply the whole thing. I'm actually in the middle of doing a runthrough right now on my twitch channel, but for some reason, it doesn't seem to be very fun. This game is definitley a game to play on your own in private, but besides that, it's such a wonderful game that got me into so many new things. Whenever they introduced the main characters and their "rival club," Hidden Block, it sorta piqued my interest and I went and did some searching about them on my own, and I got hooked on them to say the least. Especially the Hidden Block guys. This game has opened so many new doors for me for so many new opportunities to expand myself in every way, and it's just so amazing. I love this game.

I've just started this game and I'm already loving it! The graphics are gorgeous, the little voice acting additions really add to the immersion - so happy I'm playing it for my channel!

Creeps McPasta die cut stickers please!!! <3 I'll love you forever!!! I'll be your best friend!!! I'll let you be in my dreams!!! :)

I only just started playing, but I already love it so much X3 Hana's voice actor just adds to her adorable demeanor, and so do the voices, as well as narration and dialogue! I seriously recommend it to anyone looking for a good time.

OMG! This is the best thing ever! I haven't laughed this hard in as long as I can remember! BTW: I totally want to play Dumbidoom's Revenge! Thanks for a much needed bout of belly laughter on a rotten sick day!

Not a bad game so far, but most of the love interests look more like 30-40 year olds instead of high school guys... It's a little weird... IJS LOL I just started playing, though, so I can't give a real review yet. LOL I know, "Shut up, Charming!!!" haha.

Absolutely amazing game! I just wish that there was an option to skip the intro since I have to go through it dozens of times because my computer crashes a lot..

Just curious.... has anyone gotten a good end?

At my third attempt, yes. Took a while :)

I ran into a problem while playing. Every time I boot up the game my latest save files were deleted, and I had to play Day Five and after that all over again. This problem keeps happening to me. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please help me.

That just happened to me! It didn't happen the second time I played it but when I just loaded it all my files and progress were gone. Now I have to get all the way back to day 3 from the beginning...

Thanks for the great time me and my sister had playing this. We both watch YouTube religiously, so this was hilarious. Good job.

Have I mentioned how much I love the drums in the theme song? Because I booted up the latest version of this game, and I love the drums in that opening sequence.

Is it possible to date creeps mcpasta in this game?

I have a friend who wants to play Asagao Academy, but she has a chromebook and is unable to play the game. Can someone please tell me how to run Asagao Academy on a chromebook?

(+3)

Same!

(+1)

I feel the same way! I've been watching this game since its Kickstarter and I'm sad that I can't play it because I only have a Chromebook.

My only suggestion is to not buy a chromebook until the chrome OS is capable of doing anything, but I guess it's too late for y'all. I have a chromebook, too, but I'm lucky enough to also have a hand-me-down laptop from my sister as well. Chromebooks can run games like this if you essentially break them into making them run another OS, but I do believe that risks bricking the thing entirely.

this is such a great game. i can't believe it is free. as someone who knew nothing about the normal boots club before playing, the game absolutely does not require prior knowledge to be enjoyed.

I just downloaded the game today...also I love it! But everytime I go to save.. it goes to this gray screen and it has like 5 options (Rollback,Ignore,Open Traceback,Copy to Clipboard, and just Quit) I don't want to lose my data cause I have got pretty far in the game.. think it means no save slots available...but I haven't even saved once...

I would like to see MatPat and/or the game grumps as cameo characters as MatPat is a good friend of PBG and JonTron used to be a part of the game grumps.

That would be awesome. But this is a normal boots game. A sneaky reference like Jon saying "God, Arin would know what to do" would be pretty funny/

It would also be cool if PBG said something like "I started taking a class in Video Game Theory with Mr. Patrick."

(+1)

I would love to have Mr. Patrick as a teacher lol

Wow, I love this game! I saw the Normal Boots guys playing it on thier channels and didn't want to watch them play it untill I did. 3 weeks later and I have all the endings completed! Now I am off to watch all the let's plays lol

Almost every time I open the game it seems like all my progress is erased, but my saves are still there, so I find myself skipping through Chapter 1 and recompleating the routes i have done. If anyone can help with this that would be great. I would like to complete the game, but if this keeps happening I won't be able to.

I need to pay attention to more YouTubers >< But I'm loving this game! The humor is amazing, especially the fashionable triple-chin shots of ProJared lol

I've been Let's Playing it for my channel for a while now >.> I'm having WAY too much fun making thumbnails for it XD For anyone interested, here's episode 1:

Thank you SO much for making this game :) I didn't even know I needed it in my life, but I'm glad it's here!

Well, the storyline is cliche but adorable, the characters have a personality to adore and even the teacher is surprisingly interesting.

The problem that -only- I see is with the main character. No personality whatsoever, flaws that only exist for plot convenience, annoyingly cliche mentality and overwhelming sensitivity; she cries/tears up at least once every two darn days. Maybe tone down the Mary-Sue-Ness? Even if it's just a joke, it's still pretty annoying.

That all said, the game is surprisingly good. I'm pleasantly surprised; this was unexpected. Great job, honestly.

omg please please help i have no idea what i'm doing, i'm trying my hardest to understand what to do, but I have no idea how to actually install/download this game, please help i want to play it so bad

Hi! I'll do my best to explain!

> Click the green "Download Now" button

> Click "No thanks, just take me to the downloads"

> There's a list of versions of the game. If you're on a computer running Windows, click the "Download" button next to "AsagaoAcademy1.0c-win.zip." If you're on a Mac, click the button next to "AsagaoAcademy1.0c-mac.zip." If you're using Linux, select the one next to "AsagaoAcademy1.0c-linux.tar.bz."

> The game downloads as a zipped folder that you'll need to unzip. If you're using a Windows computer, I recommend the program WinRAR. It's free. Right click on the zipped folder and "Extract Files". Set the destination to anywhere EXCEPT your Program Files folder and extract. If you're on a Mac, I think you can double click the zipped folder to unzip it? I have a PC, so I'm not sure... I wont be able to help you unzip the game with Linux as I've never used it.

> Open the unzipped folder and inside is a blue pixel flower icon called Asagao Academy. Double click that to launch the game!

I'm having a hard time downloading the game, when I finally got it downloaded it gave me a traceback error. I haven't been able to correct the problem on my end. Is there anything else i could try other than downloading again, I already tried that. And the dll edit doesn't work because of the encrypted package, and i can't create the missing files because I don't know what was in them in the first place, help much appreciated! Thank you! ~Admin of account(V.S.)

Hello! What is your OS?

(1 edit)

well dang, i was halfway through the jon route when all my progress on other routes were completely erased! all that was left was the save files where i did the routes. is there a way i can recover my progress? or do i have to do almost ALL THE ROUTES ALL OVER AGAIN!

i will rage so HARD if there is no way to recover my saves

):<

Are you using Windows 10? And/or is your Asagao folder inside your Program Files folder?

neither

is that a good thing or a bad thing?

(+2)

We need to create a petition for a Mai route. I know I said something similar before, but I truly feel this needs to happen. Let us rally the troops and fight the good fight to get this absolutely nessecary thing.

(+1)

My thoughts exactly, a Mai route would be amazing!

(+1)

Yes! In every play through I've watched they're like, "I wish we can date Mai"

It's a thing that needs to happen

???? How do you start the game? I downloaded it and I'm not sure how to start it. Which folder is it in?

when I got it. It was in a zipped folder. I had to extract it then I got the icon to start the game. It wasn't in a folder. If you have a question I would contact them.

Hiya. I had the same problem you did when I first got the game. Do you know where the (I think it's WinRAR) zip archive is? It's the 3 book icon with the words AsagaoAcademy1.0 next to it. Click on it. Click on the second folder in the file (The first takes you out of the WinRAR.), and after that click on the one that has the type as 'Application'. That is the game, however I suggest taking the folder out of WinRAR. To do this just open WinRAR like normal, but instead of going into the second folder, just drag it to where ever you want, then open that folder (The one you just moved). It is easier to find the game that way, because it has a blue flower icon instead of a white box. I know that seemed a little confusing but I hope that helped.

You'll need to unzip the zipped game folder. You can use WinRAR if you're on Windows. Once unzipped, the game is inside the main Asagao Academy folder. It has a blue flower icon!

I LOVE THIS GAME! I want a sequel or another otome game pretty pretty please. It has the right amount of humor and suspense. I love Ian's route!

Hiya! I'm having a bit of a problem. Yesterday I was playing the game. I beat Jon's route and got to chapter two of Satch's. I had saved the game about 8 times the last being right before I exited out of the game. Well I went back today to continue Satch's route, and all my saves were gone. I have version 1.0 of the game, so I don't really know how to fix it. P.s. I was playing Jon's route after I had redownloaded the game to get the update. I hadn't played the game before redownloading the game.

Your Asagao folder is probably located inside your Program Files folder right now. You can't save data inside that folder. Move your entire Asagao folder to a new location (like your desktop) and you'll be able to save without your saves mysteriously deleting themselves!
